Dreams

Dreams,

I wanted home girl for the longest time,

But she turned around and got a new guy.

I contemplated whether I should stay,

Why wait, when I shoudl be living my life.

I haven't heard from you in a minute,

But girl do I still think about you.

Sometimes I stare up at the sky and wonder,

Do you think about me too?

I only had dreams for us to grow old.

I just wanted to have a chance to take care of you.

Would you believe me if I told you I loved you?

Or that one day I would give you the world?

I know it sounds very corny,

But I never wanted to stall.

I just wanted you in my arms.

To hold and to love.

You have me up all night thinking about you.

I would love to hit you up,

But I know you have a man

And I trust me I understand.

I want you to be faithful

I want you to be true.

Just know that I won't be waiting,

Waiting here for you.

Thousands of girls surround me everyday.

Yet, you still run through my mind.

I know you're tired...

But I hope you are doing well.

I pray that the Lord blesses you always.

But your boy is doing well.

Putting in this work as always.

I've got bigger dreams than ever.

I have to put on for my family.

For they have been with me as always,

Just like you have.

With God behind me,

The possibilities are endless.

I can do anything I put my mind too.

I have to make it in a world where they don't want to see us shine.

It's time that I impose my will upon others.

It's time to take over.

I have dreams of taking it to the top.

And no one will take that from me.
