Dreams

There's this girl I used to know, I don't know why it seems so long ago. She held my heart as leaves began to fall, I felt her warmth with every single call. Winter's bitter cold kept us near, Holding on tightly throughout the year. But life had plans of its very own, So we split off, but not alone. I found her in my dreams last night, As soft and beautiful as the moon light. She pulled me in close, closer than I'd ever been, Giving me hope, my heart pounding from deep within. Like the sun rising in the east, The darkness of my world simply ceased. She sends shocks throughout my very soul, Making me feel, making me whole. Her life and love beckon me, Reminded of what used to be. Wishing that moment could last forever, A touch, a kiss, tethered together. But all too soon, I slipped back into sadness, And all too soon, the dream ended its madness. How I long for that feeling once more, Hoping that she'll be behind one of life's doors. Until then I'll continue on, looking for a sign, Knowing somehow our futures will intertwine. May I keep on flowing down the stream, That presents to me these precious dreams.
