Dreams

I trudge

Through the angst ridden halls

People everywhere-

Yet I recognize none but a few

Half dead-

Don't they know there's more?

My face is blank-

But in my mind a storm is brewing

I dream, I escape

I survey this land of possibility,

Waiting for me to conquer it

I gaze out across a realm of what ifs

A tree bears fruits of opportunity,

Ripe

Ready for me to pluck

I stare down the road of possibility

The enticing sense of wonderment

Pulled me in

At Madison Square Garden,

The deafening roar of applause shakes my body

I place my hand on the Bible,

"... to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the constitution"

I gaze down at a little blue and green ball,

Wondering how something that once seemed so big,

Could now be so small

These guideposts-

Mark the path to my destiny

I need my dreams, the escape, the outlet

These aspiration let me glimpse

Into what could be

Thoughts in my head

That no one else can see

They are what make me

me.
