Dreams

Vivid colors flash so briefly

Neurotransmitters fire quickly

R.E.M. occurs so sweetly

Where did it all go?

Aspirations are but inklings

Hopes mean nothing if you're wasting

The faint sounds of clock's hands ticking

Where did it all go?

Clouds shift calmly on deep blue skies

Praying you'll see through all the lies

You wonder why he even tries

Where did it all go?

These tufts of white caress your skin

The bouquet now rests in the bin

Anger courses through veins within

Where did that man go?

Tossing and turning that cruel night

Dreams are now tainted since your plight

But peer now at the morning light

Where shall you now go?

You marvel at how pleased you are

Now that pain is not near, but far

Wounds will heal soon, but still will scar

Where shall you now go?
