Have dreams

childrens eyes gleam

gleam with their hopes

Gleam with the thought 

of becoming an astronaught

or a dancer

Don't have the time of day

to play around with their talents

Their dreams were crushed 

with the work rush

or were too lazy

Too lazy to plan ahead

too lazy to get up and believe

believe in themselves

I wanna be a poet

I got up and did something

Ill plot and plan

Practice and Practice 

Until

Until ive inspired someone

The perspiration on my face as i perform

Perform my 1st slam poem 

In my school's auditorium

In front of 45 people

as the judges stare me down 

i start to pour my heart out 

my heart starts to pound

i make almost all of the audience cry

I finish and bow

wow

i walk into class and my friend

she hugged me

The whole class stands

stands in applause

for me 

me 

the person who got up 

got up and decided to inspire

I helped my school 

By achieving

doing what i lovc

I love to pour my heart on to paper

To re-arrange my passion

to make an inspiring piece of art

If someone tells you to stop trying

dont stop

dont listen

you can be great

you can be strong

and you can do it 

and you will

if you try

you can make a difference

you think that you cant 

or your not good enough

thats a lie

a lie you tell yourself 

a lie that will haunt you

till the end of your time

Usually people who are dying

people about to pass 

wish

they wish they did something

something that they loved 

Instead of the Doctor

just because it pays well

dont be the one to die 

die without doing something

good 

good in your life

something that you love

dont be the one to regret life choices

be the one to love and agree

agree with the ones you made
