Dreams

My heart longed for a dream

And a dream of bittersweet perfection came to me

It was wonderful dream

A dream I fought to keep

Nay sayers, said "Pick a smaller dream,"

But finally, I won the battle,

My dream, it seemed, was mine to keep

Until that eve when I awoke and found myself asleep

I stayed in stupor for several months’ time

It was as if I was still asleep

A waking nightmare was the heartbreak of this dream lost

A zombie among the living, leech to life

For I had lost my love that fateful night

Slowly with time I fully arose and returned to the light

And now I wait to find new dream

A new dream, a new destiny, a new place in life.
