Dreams

Slowly I fade
in
and out,
against a tide of listless abandon
and flagrant avoidance.
Dancing with this
rebellious nature
I stumble
and am caught
not by myself
nor another,
but by a day dream:

a mere capricious indolence:
a winsome stranger
come to rescue me from
this exhaustible allusion
that is my integral endurance
for a breath,
so unwanted
it shudders to take hold
and push itself free.
For lack of a cosset bosom
it reins supreme and
without con-testers;
adamant in its abrasion.
It wears away the enamel of
my being, so perfunctory in action,
averse to any change:

a child king among his hungry army,
my head spins and he commands.
I sleep, so sweet amid his presence,
his paranoia becoming my own mania,
we are safe,
only in each others arms.
And as these;
Decadent desires float on airy wings
about my mind as dancers on an empty stage.
An array of Vibrant colors dash to and fro on clicking heels,
leaving scuffs like scars into my conception.

Fluent translations of languid heart ache,
callous about my afflictive defiance.
Quelling it quietly: smothering it inexorably.
Muddled distinction between love and torture,
My liege calls, I must obey, and with shaky hands I
hurdle my continuance into the melancholy inferno.
Watching with detached curiosity as my affections atomize:
and meld with the wind.

Luminosity ends my incessant pace, and finally;
Apathy takes hold, and lulls me to sleep.
Luminescent incubus mollycoddles my vision of vanity.
Controlling prepubescent urges and forcing on them discipline.
