Dreams In A Cage

Shackles bound in Chains Hope Dreams and The Future all Detained Yet the caged bird sings a song of Life Yet a dream deferred blocks his voice from reaching out to touch the skies that we so oft dreamed of. Nighafter Night. Struggle after Struggle the caged bird with clipped wings tried to fly. Feel that high that was given to his brother. The caged bird sings of freedom sought yet we as humans try to dream of naught but the things that held us down while thinking, preening, and wishing for the future. So near and yet so far we have dreamnt a dream differed from what we want truly in life. We dream of the past that has taught us lessons. We dream of the future filled with so much blessings. We dream of the present so filled with study to help make us a better person Yet we sing silently as the cage bird cries. We know why the cage bird sings it's song of longing and hopes. We know how dreams deferred from what we want the most. Yet do we know the path we must take to let our voices be heard?
