Dreams I live by
I see the sun in her eyes
Haiti on his skin
His dreams I live by
Her tears I swim in
Freely I stride, confidence sing to me
Hate and ridicule mourns my absence
Prejudice seeks me
The dreams I live by
The reality I am in
They judge her native tongue
Her background left unsung
He coats himself with pride
And leaves it out dry
For dreams I live by
The air I breathe in
Desensitized her truths
Hardened his absence
Their Dreams I live by
The state I am in
