Dreams to Nightmares

I awoke in a dream asleep next to me, who turned and promised that he'd never leave,

his image starts melting to my father no less, with a grip full of rage choking my neck,

a glimpse from the corner my mother revealed, who stands and watches as my death is sealed,

I awoke in a dream to family and gifts, my sister walks by whom I will always miss,

my mother walks in with forbidden fruits, her demeanor strangely scared and aloof,

I enjoy her gift and start unwrapping my own, the dream then suddenly fades to dark tones,

I am pleasured to find a pile of screws, cold to the touch yet that of old news,

ecstacy in every inch that pierces my body, in a room full of love,

who stares as they watch me,

confused in fact that I would love such a gift, and unconcerned enough that I won't be missed,

I awoke in a dream to festivals and music, surrounded by loved ones who seemed so clueless,

I pass by the piano and play in the streets, as the people laugh and dance on their feet,

soon halted by a loved ones pride, as they say, "not today for this time is mine,"

they smash the piano and from it make strings, they play a concerto of a man who played king,

as I weep the sky weeps along, drowning the sound in a pouring rainfall,

I leave just as quickly as I entered, to come across a gypsy with an aura of splendor,

she whispers in my ear there is nothing to fear, for at the end of every corner the end becomes clear,

I awoke in a dream lost in the rain, alone and lost drenched in my pain,

two figures in the distance came with love as their names, who said they would guide me out of this plane,

I followed in silence as they walked up a hill, once at the top I was pushed with ill-will,

I slid to the bottom on a plain of shattered glass, my bones broken and battered as they slowly walked pass,

I stared at the rain as I laid on my past, wishing to dream of a world that would not last,

If this was a dream then there is hope of another, an endless cycle of one after the other.
