Dreams on the Shelf

Location

Changing my hours

climbing stone towers

leaving my mind once again.

No longer sleeping

constantly leaping

to wrap up my loose odds and ends.

As I awaken

I'm jolted and shaken

expected to shift up my gears.

If I go cruisin'

Will I be losing

respect from my loved one's and peers.

Though I know what's best

Ignore all the rest

keeping my thoughts to myself.

It's only a game

to keep people sane

to put all their dreams on the shelf.
