Dreams of An Unwanted Foreigner

People say we are no good

We have dreams of being criminals,

Getting pregnant at fifthteen,

Selling and doing drugs,

Being gang bangers,

Rapists,

Stealing jobs,

Dropouts,

Low education,

And being poor

But are they right?

Everywhere we go , all we hear is a lie

Is everything in our heads?

Is it all a dream?

We just wish it was, but it's not

They called us a wetback

No, wait that's not all

Hey, you walking thing, is what we hear

You don't belong here!

You don't have dreams!

We have dreams!

Dreams to become someone

Someone better than what our parents have done for us

We'll prove you wrong

We'll run and follow our dreams

You don't know who we are!

Just wait and see
