Dreamscape

I gaze upon sleep, my friend, my foe; A chance to start anew, refresh spirit and mind. Ask ultimate forgiveness, strength to make amends For all promises, made and not kept. A chance to experience pure, complete fantasy, Be a god, know future, and dictate what is. Be a judge, punish and reward, Be a vagabond of time, change the stone past. Observe heartbreak from a distance, heal and mend, My closest friend, relieve my pain of the day! Comfort me with your fulfilling peace. Lull my shattered heart back to one. Two-faced enemy, you choke my soul. My deepest fears have manifested with vengeance. I peer through the cloudy window only to scream, As those happenings I dread, take cruel shape. Memories are made, like pictures glued into place. I mourn as time passes, they crumble and fade. The origins of dreams are desires of the heart. Teachers of self, desires known and unknown.

We must acknowledge our greatest desires before they become our worst fears.
