A DRINKERS LAMENT

A DRINKERS LAMENT I was last nights ball of fire I was greedy I won’t fib Which is why I’ve gone from a ball of fire Into this mornings big damp squib Don’t get me wrong I like a drink Or two, or three, or twenty But when I’m asked, what I’d like I say “I don’t care just give me plenty” Waking up in bed today With a head like Quasimodo Thinking “I’m never gonna drink again” But I’ll still be out tonight though And when I’m staggering home tonight, And my money’s all gone south, I’ll know I’ve got a drink problem..........
