Drinking in the Now

Drinking in the Now

I take a deep

breath of the fresh air I

sigh, drunk off

of happiness and

grateful for

this new

day – thinking not

when I wake

if this day will

be the way

I hope

or plan.

Savoring the

time,

I let go

of past events, because

ruminating is

useless to where

I am at this

new

moment.

Unable to be

bothered, for my

self-love

is too great,

I take one

step at a

time,

not knowing

what will happen

next, yet

feeling comfortable

with that

uncomfortable

feeling.

That’s the whole

point, isn’t it?

Just relaxing –

pressure’s off our

shoulders, letting the strong

current take us to exactly

where we need to

be, when we’re

supposed

to be there.
