Drip

I am a water droplet inside your bottle. Clinging to the neck I am transparent. I slide down the curvature of the body, Dreading the dispersion of myself in with the others, Molecules of water pooled-- Your bottle’s basin.
But in the heat, I rise Disappearing momentarily as I rise To the top, feeling special, rising, Hoping to be the one To last, to hold on the longest But I am trapped within your walls Perpetually clinging, sliding, yearning, dropping, rising, falling.
