Drip Drop

Drip, drop

I can hear it

I look down and see it

A stream of blood falling softly

Let it drip and drop

Let it flood to the floor

Let it run like a river

A stream of blood falling softly

The blood is that of people I know

From my friends, my family

They gave up their lives so we could live

So we could be free

Bang, bang

I hear their screams

Their pleas for their lives

Bang, bang

Like that just gone

Is that what they deserve

In an unfamiliar land

Their lives taken

Lost to our enemy

Here they have fallen

Let their blood fall here

Let it haunt the takers of their lives

Let it stain their land for an eternity

Here they have fallen

The war rages on

As though they aren’t

Dead

But at what cost

Their lives

And what is the purpose

For their loved ones back home

Their gone

Gone forever from this world

Let them rest in peace

Let them never be forgotten

Let their deaths not be in vain

Gone forever from this world

What’s the purpose

Fighting for what

It’s been weeks

I’ve been gone for months

I can still hear it

A stream of blood falling softly

Drip, drop
