Drive

My best friend is a cold steel rod

Clinging to my hand like that of a hormonal teenager

Childlike in many ways

I want my mommy

I miss the innocence I once had

The blinding curtains over my eyes

Much like this one

It never ends

I want my mommy

The clangs and bangs in my mind are real

No its not my rattle against the wood frame

It’s the endless rigor and unvarnished truth

I feel I will never see the light

Perhaps I have already

The truth, evident and driving

Has put me in a devolving state

I want my mommy
