The Drive of My Life

Driving down this road

for the past fifteen years or so,

my parents were always taking me where I needed to go

guiding me through all

  the twists

                   and turns

         and curves

of this road.

Being in their car is all I’ve known,

but now I have a car of my own

full of nerves, full of fear, and full of the unknown.

As I continue my drive down this long and bumpy road,

I have to be my own guide, for I am now grown.
