Driveway Garden

My driveway is not your typical one

Many stop to ponder and stare

Wondering what are those tall leafy things

That's when I say.......

Cosmos, Echinacea, Pumpkins,....

Red peppers, Tomatoes, Popcorn,...

Sunflowers, Basil, Lavender, Mint,....

Chives, Cucumbers, and Roses

Their eyes go wide with wonder

And to think it all started with little seeds

Except of course for the roses since they no longer grow from seeds

But yes the rest started in little seed pods

Using the water to germinate and grow

Once strong enough I set them in their permanent homes

Giving them organic soil, sun, water, and support

There have been tough times

Fungus, bugs, and  weather

have tested my plants many times

But through it all they grew tall and green

producing flowers that are now forming fruit

And to think it all started with tiny seeds

It just goes to show how amazing nature is

How prevalent nature is

And it shows that even the smallest of actions

if sown right can turn to greatness
