Drowning
These feelings engulf me
as I try to swim away,
but I keep getting pulled back.
All around me is light, warmth, love,
but I'm surrounded by murky water.
Thick, dark, and inescapable,
because of my bleeding heart.
Its black ink spreading like a plague.
I am trapped.
My own heart is killing me,
for the emotions, I won't let it feel.
I can barely breathe.
Hands grab my ankles,
trying to pull me down.
Pain shoots through my body,
for I am alone,
drowning in my own fear.
