Drowning

Drowning the sorrow with the pain of tomorrow Years slip by as you watch from the shadows Too afraid to leave your own home, what have you become? I can see the afterglow of a shattered heart that can no longer beat on its own You fell for a girl who had a soul as wild as a cyclone She was like a force of nature which could not ve controlled She tore through your fragile heart with the ferocity of a tornado The storm passed, leaving you to atone for sins that are not your own She left you along with a little girl who you now see as your whole world But you're too devastated to even realize how drunk you are all the time The rage inside you can no longer control You're burning the only bridge that you have left Do you wish for a lonely death? You're little girl is now too blinded by her newfound hatred for you So no hands will be offered to help you off the ground You continue to drown, and nobody can save you now Unless you choose to put that bottle down And open your eyes to see tomorrow
