Drowning

Walking into the water.

Suddenly my feet no longer touch the sand.

I'm hidden under the current.

I can't stay at the surface.

The current steals my breath.

I begin to fear death.

I look up,

I see the sun's bright light.

My lack of breath makes me nervous,

for I feel I cannot surface.
