Drowning
As I stood there, at the edge of the earth,
my mind began racing,
and I questioned my worth.
As I stood there, at the edge of the land,
my heart began pounding,
I knew things were out of hand.
I took a breath into my lungs
and over the edge I sprung.
and I gasped,
and I screamed,
and I splashed,
and I was drowning
And as I let the water surround me,
I kept my eyes shut tight,
Because soon I would be free.
And as I let the ocean surround me,
I lost my will to fight,
because I belonged to the sea.
I took a breath into my lungs
and over the edge I sprung
and I cried,
and I yelled,
and I died,
and I was drowning
As ice overtook my veins,
I began to feel no pain.
And even though I was drowning,
for a moment I wasn't frowning.
I took a breath into my lungs and over the edge I sprung
And even though I was drowning
I took a breath into my lungs and over the edge I sprung
for a moment I wasn't frowning
I took a breath into my lungs
and over the edge I sprung
and I gasped,
and I screamed,
and I splashed,
and I was drowning
and I cried,
and I yelled,
and I died,
and I was drowning
I was drowning
I was drowning
but for a moment I wasn't frowning
I was drowning
I was drowning
and even though I was drowning
for a moment I wasn't frowning
