Drowning
I can see the beach in the distance
Golden sands promising better days
But I every time I swim towards it
I'm met with a heavy resistance
A current pulls me under again
Once more I struggle to just breathe
It pulls me deeper and deeper
My life’s on line again
You’d think I panic
But I put myself here so much
It’s almost like I planned it
Because I know where the tides are weak
But still I swim in the rough seas
The currents fueled by alcohol
My addiction will kill me
