Drowning

Trying to catch a breath
The waves crashing on my face
Swallowing gulp after gulp after gulp
Trying to fight, trying to be strong
Every time I rise I see the land, the sun
Back down, back under
More darkness, more pain
Why? Why not just stop
Why? Why have hope
I’m going to quit, I’m done
Wait...
There’s a boat
I’m waving I’m yelling
Using the last of my energy
The last of my willpower
Please see me
Please save me
They're turning around
They're coming me way
They see me
I’m going to be okay
