Drowning
Here it comes.
The tears.
The pain.
The sleepless nights, the laughter.
The judging eyes, the dreadful kids.
My hands shake.
I reach for the door.
Heart pounding, vision blurred,
It takes me two tries to push through the doors.
Crowded halls. Too many people.
Walls closing in.
The whispers start.
They are all looking. Staring. Right at me.
Feels like I can’t breathe….
Need to escape…
Need to move…
Go!
My feet are frozen… Too many of them…
Laughing.
I’m stuck…
Drowning..
Welcome, to the ninth grade.
