Drowning

I sat down, looking down at the empty glass.

Fantasizing about it being filled, how satisfying.

The shadow it casts on the table, it does not lie.

Nothing is true but the lies that disguise the reality behind the shadows.

I felt myself drowning as I could not withstand another day of the monotomy.

All out of options, I stood and grabbed another.

Perhaps this time, it'll be enough to forget about my sorrow.
