drowning

I saw you today, and the memories, they all came flooding back. They broke down my walls, one by one, filling up too fast. I didn't have a prayer, not a single hope in the world. I just kept thinking, "maybe I'm still that girl." My heart began pumping, my mouth couldn't speak. I felt like I was diving, in sorrow way too deep. I was nothing to you, no more than a drop in the ocean, someone you used to know. Now I realize that drowning when there is no water is the worst way to go.
