drug of choice
They say “if she gets drunk and doesn't call you, that is not your girl”. But what if every moment I am drunk on the thought of you and yet I reach for the phone and there is no answer. You see, I am never sober when you are wondering my mind. Drunken stumbles are metaphors of the way your smile weakened my knees. The uncontrollable laughter that would fill the surrounding air would be a direct result of your being. You were my drug of choice. And now that you are no longer dealing I am suffering the consequences of my addiction. You see the D.A.R.E ads never talked about the repercussions of the addiction to a person. Only, don't smoke this, don't snort that. Not, don't fall in love with him, Don't get attached. And DO NOT make yourself vulnerable. That is where the addiction gets dangerous. Vulnerability is a risky thing to get involved with. The risk of the ultimate reward of acceptance or the daming shame of disapproval is one hell of a high. But the repercussions of either will break the user.
