Drum It Up

Some say We march to the beat of our own drums

Some say We march to the beat of our hearts desire

Some way We march to the beat of an impending dirge

We still march.

Some say Their march was the catalyst

Some say Their march was inevitable

Some say Their march was the end of all marches

We still march

We march hand-in-hand with our same-sex lovers

We march hand-in-hand with our sisters and brothers

We march hand-in-hand with the straights and the gays

We still march

We march for marriage

We march for equality

We march for protection

We still march

To those of you out their,

with drums softly beating,

your closeted cadences will one day be the beat

to which

We still march
