Drummer With a Dream

Tap tap tap tap.

A beat of rapid thumping

Protruded from the stage,

Capturing the attention

Of those who are engaged.

Sweat accompanied swift movements

Produced the most unusual,

Yet striking rhythm carried by

The force of its own momentum.

Tap tap tap tap.

The sound, fluid and organic,

Like water flowing downstream

And leaving the crowd ecstatic.

The heat of passion burns within,

So let his strong arms never tire.

For his motion is methodic.

No need for an amplifier.

Tap tap tap tap.

The reverberating echoes

Left me in awe.

And his fingers;

Now battered, bloody, and raw.
