Drunken Whispers
This Tale is true and mine
It tells th truth of an unspoken mind
Colorless clouds chose to collide tonight
Overwhelmed with thoughts and my aching chest.
You stood there dangling leaf
Alcohol running through your veins
Spilling words of hate and distress.
Hard reminiscing through my brain
I was that fragile child once more
Sheltered selfishly in her shivering arms.
Life giver and caring nurse
My mother in exhaustion- would cry for countless nights
Man of the house
Your throne collapsed in front of my eyes
You held my cheeks with tender drunken whispers
Faint fluttering eyes flashing lies
I can't take your morning regret
Running away became the cure
Soothing sad melodies drove me
Someplace rather safe
As I know they can relate
Maybe one day they'll make me forget.
