Dumb Heart

I keep your face inside my head, my own feet trip over on air
Hearing you talk used to mean everything, just sitting your presence meant everything
And now, seeing your smile just looks like empty pavements
I never would have imagined your hand on mine, but now you won't let me go for just one night
Even though your lips feel good at night, hearing you talk puts a bend in my mind
If I got scared I could always come to you, if I got tired I knew I could lean on you
You used to call me by your name, but you wouldn't let me do the same
You used to talk at me and lay me down to dream, but now my mind is open and my eyes awake
This dumb heart has me fooled me enough, but I just can’t let things be
