Dust
Darkness glowed ominously through the Dust
Illuminations evaporated into the sorrowful black air
It flowed endlessly over me
My body—my eyes—drawn to an emptiness
That only I endeavor to understand
Sinking into the upholstery
Enveloped by the murky air
The cloth of reality began to shiver and ripple
Erupting into oblivion as visions
That only I see danced from the dimness
Ghosts and Phantoms levitated in tandem
The flash of Hamlet’s sword
Glittered and amplified
The ring of Professor Higgins’s voice
That only I could hear
The tender gleam in Juliet’s eyes
Blazed, transforming the darkness
Into a spotlight
For Brutus’s betrayal
That only I felt stab into my heart
Gentle radiance,
Remnants of hundreds of souls
Bathed me in heavenly light
Specters of long forgot characters
That only I distinguished reliving their infinite roles
My eyes, starry, dampened
Reflected the innate glow
The light of lost multitudes
A dying prayer
That only I held sacred
Ripped from my introspection
The darkness burst
Fading into a shower of fluorescence
The visions smoothed over the stage to Dust again
That not only I may glimpse
