Dust to Dust
Dust
In singular form; an innocuous particle
Barely noticed, faintly seen
In plural; a nuisance
In multiples of infinity;
blowing through the plains of Oklahoma,
a bowl of dust
that defines a generation
Dirty, Filthy, Gritty, Sordid dust
Crushing dust
Blinding dust
Lethal dust
Barren fields
Causing barren towns
And barren wombs
And, before their time, countless tombs
Earth to Earth
Ashes to Ashes
Dust to Dust
