Dust to dust

Isaiah 64:8

8 But now, O Lord,

You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.

Dust to dust

“Dust to dust and ashes to ashes”

What about a vessel of clay?

Cracked and chipped before its time

Too brittle to be used today

What is truly passive?

And what is left to say?

As in this world of mime

The helpless get abused away

Where for goodness sake

Is earnest motivation?

“Love your neighbor as yourself”

Are they just words of the past?

In a world of give and take

We’re drowning in frustration

Yes the takers you can tell

Want everything too fast

Where is now perfection?

For the poor and hopeless

Where does justice reside?

Just only for the “well to do”

Where is the exception?

For the unnamed countless

Who are in persistence

Paying for the “mine and yours”
