To the Dust by Joshua Dolash

Gargantuan mushrooms higher than the mountains Upheld cities crowned with thousand foot walls and high fountains. Golden was the age of flying dragons so bold And the grand warriors, merchants, and kings of old. No Slewrong army could sit a flag in our empire, For strong were we people, the Falka Dom Ka. East allies, in trade, guarded the green mountains of Wob For healing herbs, treasures, and iron sent in return; It was prosperity and pleasure that we thought most important. Yet deep within all men is an evil in slumber That awoke within the cities of all our citizens. Great palace corridors leaked with pride; oozing sap. Down came integrity, the doom of the nation. Down came betrayal, the lies led to destruction; In dust, we mourn, reaping destitution Beneath our fallen mushroom cities with shame, Yet one day, a savior will come to redeem; The remnant of our allies and the Falka Dom Ka.
