Duty an unknown stream

Matthew 6:34 New English Translation (NET Bible)

34 So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Today has enough trouble of its own.

Duty

Yesterday is gone it's no use to drag it with me

I just can’t let go as some of me seems left behind

I surely was not alone when I lost some of being free

for I was well in the know about moments being kind

Will I extend yesterday now deep into my actions?

Will the lessons I've learned still, pass me by?

Or will I embrace today with accumulated fractions

of what was earned in the past to deliver me from lies

Tomorrow just a daydream a little past my reach

It will keep moving forward as I will try to follow it

Like an unknown stream barely flowing past my reach

The Son-shine touches every part of it as I'm absorbing this

Do I live now part of my future in a place not well-known?

Am I enjoying now the Life that the flesh can’t understand?

Is it not my duty though to share fully all I know and own

with others bound in strife who don't notice a helping hand?

Is the life I live not mine at all in reason and deed?

Is all I encounter just short of an accepted illusion?

Is all that I give just enough to supply all their need?

Is love to abound here to deliver me from delusion?
