Dwindling

Backstage she sits Idle and lifeless Waiting for the next string along Scars covered with sloppy paint Mouth wired shut untill needed Limbs mangled by time She doesn't move Quiet with only darkness for familiarity The ominous sounds become the only song she's heard What friend does the darkness know None it only feeds Feeds on her loneliness Feeds on the aimless tears that roll Leaving no one to care Screams that ring inside her mind When will it stop the pain The tireless games The puppeteer has left her she rots Long nestled hair Brown eyes that lose their color As her brown skin pales to a lifeless color Why won't he let it all end Cut the strings leave her to find The darkness Tie the noose Let her find something that isn't purgatory
