The Dwindling Light

Mon, 12/11/2017 - 23:56 -- Setua

Through the darkness,
A candle burns,
Erasing the varnish of the tainted world,
This flame shines,
Leaving behind a forgiving line,
Illuminating the signs of what used to be,
Reminding me of times,
Times where things were what they seem,
Times when dreams were nothing but dreams.
But now the demons haunt,
And the shadows creep,
My insecurities they flaunt,
I’m scared to make a peep.
This is a life filled with scorn,
The end of all emotions once torn.
While this might be my final breath,
Don’t cry for me, I am finally at rest.
