A Dying Mind

Every night it’s the same

I lie awake with this pain

While everyone sleeps I slip away

My mind is screaming but my tongue is tied

My body aches but so does my mind

To end it all would that be bad

To leave behind this life I have

The thought of a blade running down my arm

Would that be bad to watch the blood run

To feel something other than numb

My mind aches from being held down

Just once it says just once

But if I do what will they say

Will they say it was for attention or maybe because she’s crazy

So no I cannot take that blade

Though my fingers ache to be with the blade

To feel the blade cut through skin

But no one can hear my silent screams

As I slowly die away
