A Dying Society

Two a.m. and I'm wide awake. The storms they come, the ground it quakes, But it does not disturb the night. This morning only my body will feel the fright. The walls caving in, the roofs falling down Yet only my body will feel the town. My breathing is cutting short as I walk around to see the corpses lying sound the vibrations from my heart are all I see as these things around me cease to be. It's a dying society now nature demands authority the people they lie with eyes so blind but only my body seems to mind. Maybe they are too misguided to hear the mountains crumbling down behind their ears The bodies lie so still while our world dissolves, it strikes me ill I feel the rubble shout to me as it topples over, trying to flee we live under a sky no one wants to fly in because we waste our world by the bin Only my Body cries as the world does This ruin covers our loves all the cares, the hopes, and dreams this dead society tries to scream but she lives in a world of no sound and her body will never be found.
