Dysfunctional Love

Love is something that you feel towards one another

Love can not be bought

Love is taken for granted

Hearts are being torn apart

I took you back even though you did me wrong

Because I love you

I let you call me names and make me feel so small

I didn’t even try to defend myself not once not at all

Because I love you

This is not love

This is a nightmare

Why do you cause me all this pain

What can’t you see that this is killing me

You should be so ashamed

We fuss and we fight

But we just can`t seem to get things right

Maybe if we took the chance to express how we really felt

We wouldn’t be in this mess

I always believed you when you said you loved me

But deep inside I knew it wasn’t true

I should’ve left a long time but I decided to stay

Because I loved you

You see I allowed you to misuse me

Because I loved you

 I started to become someone I wasn’t

Because I loved you

If you loved me you

You would’ve respected me

If you loved me

You would’ve showed me that you cared

If you loved me

You would’ve noticed what you were doing to me was wrong

If you loved me

You would never want to hurt me

The time we had together is coming to an end

I will never forget what we once had

My love for you will always remain

But nows the time for me to make a change

I`m saying goodbye

I`m leaving

Why

Because its time for me to love myself
