Dyslexic Me

The written word never seemed meant for me.

Lines and dots were all I could see.

But then my Mother would read to me every night.

And soon I wanted to also read and write.

Books alone could open any door.

I just wanted to read more and more!

Learning to read was the hardest thing I had ever done.

My dyslexia required study past the moon replaced the sun.

Now I could read, soon too shall I write.

Oh, how my future became so bright!

Poems by far were my favorite thing.

So few words, and yet they did sing.

From then to now, I've become rather proud.

I'm a dyslexic who writes with words that are loud.
