To Each Their Own
We are told from an early ageThat discrimination is frowned uponAnd that everybody is equal. That we should listen to our heartsAnd try to follow our dreamsTo become someone great in the future.
What we are taught by our parentsIs not what is impressed upon us by The ever growing society around us. Words like faggot, queer, flit, and filth; Are the monstrosities being thrown intoThe faces of those who try to follow their hearts.
These actions of expressing love towardsAnother of the same sex have been Strewn into deformed configurations That have left the world reckoned.A world carved in half Is a world without hope and A world without a life.
We speak of Truth, Liberty, and Freedom; But where is the freedom and libertyIn how we allow them to live?Criticized every dayFor the simple act of acting truthfullyWith the desires and feelings of their hearts.
Homosexuals are not another species,They are not people that we can just controlSimply because we fear the future. We should not hold reign overWhat they can and cannot doWith their lives and relationships.
