Eagle and Snake
What did we say to each other
That now we are as a snake and an eagle
the eagle, picking
picking
picking.
The snake, waiting
waiting for the prime moment to strike.
Just when the eagle comes in for the final swoop,
the snake snaps, releasing its venom into its prey.
Slowly.
