Earth-Angel
The only difference between a halo and a noose is gravity; my humanity will be the death of me, ‘cause I’ll never be heavenly enough to be free from what pulls down on me, this circle above my head becoming the circle around my neck as I choke on prayers and agony, please, all I ask is that you show me a little empathy, is that you show me anything that reminds me that I’m more than just a body, more than just somebody that you dropped into your maze-mind, hoping I’d find a way to get you out alive.
I can’t save you any more than I can fly, but God I’ll try; God, I’ll try.
