the earth is a cage

blue light ripples across the sand,

everything looks the same never changing, never shifting.

in a monochrome box, he holds my hand.

everyone passes us by faceless and bland;

even without faces they look disgusted, maybe we are disgusting.

blue light ripples across the sand.

my heart beats quickly, feeling like a band.

In my chest, which i know is empty, keeps. on. thumping.

in a monochrome box and he holds my hand.

they hold us with their eyes, under their command,

should we separate, should we go? running

blue light ripples across the sand.

now they chase us, he needs to unhand me,

maybe they would stop. no, he keeps on gripping

in a monochrome box, he holds my hand.

this pain is not something we can withstand.

i can feel us, slowly slipping.

blue light ripples across the sand,

in a monochrome box, he holds my hand.
