Earth Child

Run faster and let your shadow glide across the ground like a hawk in flight Feel the nature's drum beats that each foot makes as it lands on the trusting surface of earth, beating your song "it's alright it's alright" And don't slow down until the river pulls you into her watery path Where her pebbles tremble beneath your bare skin, carefully rolling you through the shallows to avoid the currents wrath They place you on the waters shore, to have the sun lick away the water droplets through your sweat filled pores And the birds from above will sing their sweet notes, promising "all will be yours, all will be yours" From one mothers passing another arrives, so young to love her land The earth becomes a sand timer, with dirt running through her hand
